Norquest is located in Øverbygd, in northern Norway latitude 69 north. The farm Skjærhaug is at a peaceful place by the Målselv river. Here a family of four and 25 dogs lives of offering you an extraordinary outdoor experience. Wintertime we sledge through the surrounding terrain with friendly, hardworking Alaskan huskies. There is a firehouse, where one can prepare the dinner on the open fire, and a beautiful sauna and outdoor hot-tub for our guests use – summer as well as winter. We arrange weektrips with dogsledging most of the winter season. Dogsledging is Norway’s most increasing sport at the time. Norway has been doing very good in the Iditarod Sled Dog Race in Alaska lately, with two victories, a 3^rd and a 4^th place in three years, so the media has given it a lot of attention and recruited more enthusiasts. It is a very nice way of exploring the nature as you can cover long distances in pure silence. We have had all ages here, one just has to be reasonably fit to be able to harness the dogs and keep the balance when sledging. We also make our place available for group functions, including birthday parties, weddings and company functions. All facilities are available for use including the firehouse, sauna and hot tub. You tell us what you need and we will organize it Wintertime’s we do dogsledding trips from our home, on the Finnmark plateau and from Dividalen national park to the Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi in Sweden. Spring, summer and autumn companies, birthdays, batchelorparties and so on visit us for relaxing, having fun and a break from city life. The firehouse can room 50 persons, but small groups also enjoy sitting around the fire, eating a tasty meal and enjoy the atmosphere and good friends. Sitting in the hot tub under the northern lights or with the midnight sun is an indescribable feeling that has to be sensed. The Målselv River is a rich salmon river. Groups can drive further up the valley and canoe to our place. When they come ashore the hot sauna and hot tub are waiting for them, or perhaps a delicious reindeer stew over the fire. Or what about arriving with horse and sledge?
